This This rather interesting and colourful Oil Painting was brought into us a year or so ago. It was quite a dirty piece, with a rotting canvas that needed lining. Lining involves a process of adhering a best quality canvas to the rear of the old canvas. This strengthens the support of the flaking paint.

After this, the painting must be cleaned and the varnish removed, which allows the beautiful, bright colours to shine through. Paintings often appear yellowed compared to their original intent an it can be very surprising just how colourful some apparently dark paintings really are.
